New Race Rig

With Noosa Triathlon fast approaching here is a photo of my new Time Trial bike that I will be racing on at Noosa. Now this is one fast bike! but coming from a Road/MTB riding background its taking me a while to get used to the new position and handling of a TT bike, I'm loving all the free speed its giving me though!

A River Somewhere

This series was one of the main reason for me getting into Fly Fishing, when I was knee high to a grass hopper.
Have a watch and you will understand why.

Moving on

So today marks a day of change, my first love my 2000 Ford Festiva was sold today. I already have a new car a Subaru Impreza but its still hard to let my first car go. We had so so so many adventures along the way. She was a ticket to freedom or a 18yr old school boy she doubled as a 4WD, a drift car, a tow in for many jumps, she was rallied though the snow, had many a person travel in her boot, was involved in a few bingles, during school days made for a taxi and lunch run vechile, carted more friends to the beach/ camping than any other vechile, was the vechile of choice for many fishing adventures and most of all was my first true love.
its sad to see her go, but everyone must move on

Mooloolaba Triathlon and AG worlds

Mooloolaba triathlon is a race I have wanted to do for a long time. It was always in the plan for the 2012/13 season, what wasn't in the plan was finding out I had low levels of iron. This explained a lot about why my health wasn't where it should have been, why I was inconsistent in training and why I was feeling very tired! Finding out I had low levels of iron 2 weeks out from Mooloolaba triathlon isn't the best preparation, the doc told me I needed to take a good break from training and shouldn't race in Mooloolaba, as well as getting weekly injections of iron in my butt.

Not being able to get any form of refund from the race organisers at this late time and having booked my flights, I didn't see any reason why I could just participate and have a good time whilst racing, I just didn't plan to push the race very hard.

I ended up racing in my Age group and finishing in the top 10, off two weeks of no training and not being at 100% healthly. Surprisingly this got me spot for  the AUS team for ITU age group world championship in London. Not being something that is on my radar racing wise I'm not going to be able to compete in London at world championships, Also I would struggle to afford the air fairs let alone everything else. But its always nice to know that is an option if I choose to stop following the dream of being a Elite/Pro athlete.

Here are a few photos from the Mooloolaba race.

Exciting the water
