My Rides

My rides

So I thought it would be good to do a review of my rides. These are the bikes I train and race on day in day out. The reason I love these bikes so much is, every single bike has a lengthy story behind its life and build.

This is newest bike to my stable, The Scott Plasma LTD, Ultergra build, Detec Carbon clinchers and Profile T2 bars with amazing zebra bar tape! What an amazing Time trial bike! This bike started life with my friend Naish Chapman, when he no longer needed a time trial bike and I had two road bikes a trade was organised and the Scott got a bit of a rebuild. Now she is my non drafting triathlon race bike.

My favourite bike to get out and ride has to be my Kona King Kikapu, it’s another new addition to my bike family. Hands down the King has to be my favourite bike to ride any day of the week. Nothing better than getting out in the dirt and elements, trashing though the bush, climbing and descending the dual suspension fox float rp2 is rear shock is amazing compared to the hard tail I was riding before the King came along.

Last but not least is my Lemond Victorie, the bike that holds a special place in my heart. This bike was part of an 18th birthday present. It has had many builds over the years and even was stolen for 45mins. It started life as a full bontrager and ultetrga build, now full Dura ace a mixture of 7800 and 7900, 3T, Bontrager, Mavic, selle itlia and Fiziki and conti. Its super light and amazing to ride coming in at sub 7kg.

Annual off road Triathlon

Next weekend mark’s my annual return to off road triathlon racing, I wish this form of racing wasn’t an annual event, but in my part of Australia the off road racing is far and few between. Xterra or off road triathlon is something I have wanted to get more heavily into, but being a broke student, that leaves few options for travel to races. So on the 17th of March I will competing in Creswick on an amazing looking course with all the technical and physical demands of many of the higher profile Xterra or off road races. We can only hope that in a few years more races like this will pop up around Australia and hopefully we can get an Xterra championship races happening?
